Opening presents was lots of fun!

Blowing out the birthday candle with some help from Kelly.

What would a western theme be without some fiddle music?!!

A Day With the Dolphins

Tom's friend took us to see the dolphins at the Naval base where they work. We were able to pet them, feed them and watch them do some tricks. It was so much fun.

Fathom, one of the girls let us pet her. She even jumped up for each of us.

Mandi was the only one who pet the dolphin's tongue. Wow-what a lot of teeth!

Trainers had Coho jump onto the raft. Then we took turns petting her.

Violin Practice

Kelly has started taking violin lessons from Tom's teacher, Kara. She just recently moved up to a larger violin, a 1/8 size. She loves going to lessons with Daddy on Thursday evenings.

Orange Pickin'

Kelly and Mommy walked up the hill to check on the orange trees today. The temperatures have been freezing overnight and we were worried that the cold killed them. Luckily, they were alright. We decided to pick a few navels and try them. They were delicious!

Kelly picked a little more than the orange!

Christmas Eve Music

Our friends had us over Christmas Eve after church for yummy carnitas. Tom, Rob and Lou serenaded us with their musical talents.

Ladies in Red

On Christmas Eve Kelly and Mommy wore the same matching dresses that they wore when Kelly was a baby. Mandi found a larger size for Kelly a few years ago.

The kids at church sang songs for the Christmas Eve morning service. Tom played his guitar and Mandi helped the kids sing. Kelly sang her heart out.

Birthday Project

Uncle Billy and Aunt JaNel sent Kelly a snowglobe kit for her birthday. Kelly had fun putting it together. Thank You!

Kelly was proud of her snowglobe.

Kelly's First Sewing Machine

Daddy bought Kelly her very own sewing machine. Here she is stepping on the pedal while Mom Mom shows her how to move the fabric.

Kelly did pretty well on her first attempt to sew by herself.

The Birthday Girl

We celebrated Kelly's 6th birthday with a few of our friends. She had a horse birthday cake.

Making Peanut Butter

For Kelly's math lesson we were shelling and counting peanuts. When we were finished we made peanut butter. Here's Kelly shelling nuts. Yes, she is in her pajamas. That's one of the fun things about homeschool-you can stay in your pjs!

Putting the shelled nuts into the food processor.

The finished product-yummy!

A Birthday Bead Party

Kelly wanted to celebrate her birthday by having a bead party. She invited our good friends, The Seling's to join in the fun. We celebrated a bit early since this was the best day out of the busy month. Closer to Kelly's actual birthday we will have a cake and ice cream party with more of our friends.

Kelly chooses her beads before getting to work.
